Display - Tohoku Pioneer Announces OLED Expansion

Tohoku Pioneer announced a four billion Yen (US$36.1 million; US$1 = 110.8 Yen) investment to expand full color OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) capacity. A monthly capacity of one million 2" displays is expected to be achieved by summer of 2005 at its plant in Yamagata Prefecture. The maker had already been working to boost monthly capacity from 300,000 units to 600,000 units before the end of 2004.
